CARDCONE LANTERN L Lighting

CARDCONE LANTERN is the lantern of our hearts. It was the paper chandeliers of the bustling streets of Far East Asia that we’re the inspiration for this lighting.

Instead of translucent paper the CARDCONE LANTERN is cut and formed from cardboard. The cut-outs in the cardboard, regularly folded around the bulbous lantern, allow the light inside to seep through and illuminate the surroundings.

Like paper lanterns, our lanterns stand out best when several of them hang in a row next to each other. For example, above a kitchen bar or a dining table.

The lantern’s top wooden elements are custom made by a carpenter from solid Czech oak wood.

The lighting shade is fitted with a power cable with a fitting. Bulb is not included. Due to the paper nature of the shade, we recommend that you choose cold sources (energy-saving light bulbs) – LEDs for the fitting.

Kartoons use only high-quality cardboard, material which would otherwise go unused, for their creative work.  Layer on layer it reaches admirable strength and becomes surprisingly elegant element for modern interiors. We sensitively transform the material into wonderfully practical furniture, beauty-radiating lighting or creative interior accessories.  Each item is designed and hand made in the Czech Republic. We dedicate hours of hand work and care to make each piece an original.
